Richard Cameron English playwright dead at age 77

Richard Cameron, the English playwright from Doncaster, died on May 5, 2026, aged 77.

Born on 16 June 1948 in Doncaster, Yorkshire, he wrote plays including Pond Life, Not Fade Away, The Mortal Ash, Almost Grown, All of You Mine, The Glee Club, Gong Donkeys, Flower Girls and Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down. He also wrote Dear Nobody, starring Sean Maguire, and Stone, Scissors, Paper for BBC in 1997.

Cameron contributed to the television series Midsomer Murders, writing the episode Midsomer Rhapsody.
