He co-founded Ishi Press and was the founding publisher of Kiseido Publishing Co., which produced Go books in English. Bozulich worked with several Japanese professional players and wrote a regular Go column for The Daily Yomiuri, then Japan’s largest English-language newspaper.

He also taught mathematics at Shonan Institute of Technology until 2005 and lived in Chigasaki, Japan.
