Reinhardt Kiehl, a German mathematician, died on January 26, 2026.
Born in Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia, on May 31, 1935, he studied mathematics, physics and astronomy from 1955 at the University of Göttingen and the University of Heidelberg. He received his Ph.D.
in 1965 from Heidelberg University under Friedrich Karl Schmidt with a thesis titled Äquivalenzrelationen in analytischen Räumen. Kiehl was a research assistant at the University of Münster from 1966 to 1968, became a docent there in 1968 and 1969, and received his habilitation in 1968. He later served as professor ordinarius at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main from 1969 to 1972 and at the University of Mannheim from 1972 until retiring as professor emeritus in 2003.
Reinhardt Kiehl (31 May 1935 – 26 January 2026) was a German mathematician.
