Barney Cable, an American basketball player who played for the Detroit Pistons, Syracuse Nationals and St.
Louis Hawks, died on January 26, 2026, at age 90. Born Byrum William Cable on July 29, 1935, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, he was a six-foot-seven forward and the third Bradley University player selected in the NBA draft.
Cable was taken by the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the 1958 NBA draft and played 362 games in the NBA.
