A midfielder or winger, he was among the club’s most decorated players, helping it capture nine trophies in the 1960s. His honours included two Liga Leumit titles, three Israel State Cups, two Israel Super Cups and the 1969 Asian Champion Club Tournament against South Korea’s Yangzee.
Baranes also played a decisive role in the 1965 Israel State Cup final, scoring in the 112th minute of extra time against Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv to secure the title.
