Also known as Kol Yisrael, the name identified Israel’s public domestic and international radio service, which operated first as part of the Israel Broadcasting Service and later under the Israel Broadcasting Authority. The service traced its origins to an underground Haganah station that began regular broadcasting in late 1947, later became the official station of the new state, and carried the first live radio broadcast of David Ben-Gurion reading the declaration of independence.
Its work continued until the Israel Broadcasting Authority was dissolved in 2017, after which the stations it had administered came under the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.
