Nallakannu, an Indian politician and senior leader of the Communist Party of India, died on February 25, 2026. He served as the State Secretary of the Communist Party of India in Tamil Nadu from 1992 to 2005.
Born in Tiruvaikuntam, in what is now Srivaikuntam, Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu, on December 26, 1924, he was also active as a social activist. Nallakannu died in Chennai at the age of 101.
Ramasamy Nallakannu (26 December 1924 – 25 February 2026) was an Indian politician. He was a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI), who served as the State Secretary of the Communist Party of India of Tamil Nadu from 1992 to 2005.
