
Pietro Calogero, an Italian magistrate, died on April 6, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born in Pace del Mela, Italy, on December 28, 1939, he graduated from the University of Messina. Calogero was responsible for the arrest of numerous militants of the Autonomia Operaia movement, including Antonio Negri, Oreste Scalzone and Franco Piperno.
From 2009 to 2015, he served as president of the Corte d’appello di Venezia. He died in Padua.
