Norm Kimball, the Canadian football executive who served as general manager of the Edmonton Eskimos and later president and chief operating officer of the Montreal Alouettes, died on September 25, 2026, aged 96.
Born Norman Harvey Kimball on June 29, 1930, he joined the Edmonton organization in 1961 and served as its general manager from 1966 to 1985. During that tenure, the Eskimos won the Grey Cup in 1975 and again in five consecutive seasons from 1978 to 1982.
Kimball also chaired the CFL general managers from 1971 to 1974 and became chairman of the league’s player relations committee in 1975. In 1991, he was elected as a builder to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
