Nathan Healey (athlete) New Zealand runner dead at age 76

Nathan Henry Healey, a New Zealand runner, died on March 6, 2026.

He specialised in the 3000 metres steeplechase and cross country, won three national titles, and represented New Zealand in the steeplechase at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games. Healey also won a bronze medal in the teams event at the 1973 IAAF World Cross Country Championships.

Born in Gisborne on March 13, 1949, he later moved to Wellington, where he became a member of the Scottish Harrier Club.

Nathan Henry Healey (13 March 1949 – 6 March 2026) was a New Zealand runner who specialised in the 3000 metres steeplechase and cross country. He won three national titles and represented his country at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games in the steeplechase, and won a bronze medal in the teams event at the 1973 IAAF World Cross Country Championships.
