Mark Bittner, an American writer and author of The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, died on March 12, 2026.
Born in Vancouver, Washington, on November 29, 1951, he wrote the book that accompanied the film The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill. According to available information, Bittner spent 14 years on the streets of San Francisco after his dream of becoming a professional musician fell apart.
