Mario D’Acquisto, an Italian politician, died on March 11, 2026.
Born in Palermo on January 12, 1931, he served as president of the Sicilian Region from 1980 to 1982 and later as vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies from 1992 to 1993. In the 1970s, he was mayor of Mezzojuso, in the province of Palermo.
In 1980, he succeeded Piersanti Mattarella as leader of the Sicilian Region.
