Louis Tapardjuk, a Canadian politician and former Nunavut MLA, died on April 7, 2026, at age 73.
He represented Amittuq from 2004 to 2013 after winning the seat in the 2004 Nunavut election. Tapardjuk served on the Executive Council of Nunavut as minister of finance and as minister of culture, language, elders and youth.
Before entering the legislature, he was mayor of Igloolik and served as a board member of the Tunngavik Federation of Nunavut.
