Knut Husebø, a Norwegian visual artist and actor, died on June 1, 2026, at the age of 80.
Born in Stavanger on May 10, 1946, he built a long career across stage, television and film. Husebø made his debut in 1968 at Den Nationale Scene in the role of Flyndrefanten in Taremare by, later working at Nationaltheatret in several periods between 1969 and 1986 before continuing as a freelance actor.
His credits included the roles of Edmund in King Lear, Orsino in Twelfth Night and the title part in Henrik Ibsen’s Catiline, and he also appeared in screen adaptations such as Benoni and Rosa and the television series Jenny. International audiences may also have known him from Life and Death, Julia Julia and Apprentice to Murder.
