Raúl Guerrón, an Ecuadorian football defender who played for Deportivo Quito and the national team, died on June 1, 2026, at age 49.
Born Raúl Fernando Guerrón Méndez in Atuntaqui on October 12, 1976, he spent his entire senior career with Deportivo Quito, beginning in 1993 and ending in 2008. Guerrón also represented Ecuador internationally and was part of the squad at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
