Juan Manuel Escobar, an American politician and judge, died on August 12, 2026, aged 76.
A former member of the Texas House of Representatives from the 43rd district, he served in the chamber from 2003 to 2009 and later served as Kleberg County judge from 2011 to 2014. Born on March 11, 1950, Escobar also held the honorific distinction of being wounded in action during his service in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam, where he rose to the rank of staff sergeant.
Before entering public office, he earned a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Texas–Pan American in 1978.
