Rosen, an American businessman and co-founder of Sega, died on December 25, 2025, at age 95. Born on January 22, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, he served in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1952, primarily in Japan and the Far East during the Korean War.
In 1954, he returned to Japan and started Rosen Enterprises, Inc., which sold art created in Japan to the American market and operated photo studios for Japanese identification cards. In 1957, Rosen Enterprises, Ltd. shifted to importing and operating coin-op amusement machines in Japan. He later served as chairman and CEO of Sega and retired from the company in 1996.
