Daniel Castellani, an Argentine volleyball player and coach, died on June 25, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born in Buenos Aires on March 21, 1961, he represented Argentina’s national team from 1976 to 1988 and became one of the country’s leading players of his era. Castellani won a bronze medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and added a bronze at the 1982 World Championship.

He later moved into coaching, including a spell as head coach of Skra Bełchatów from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, he took charge of Poland’s national team and led it to the European Championship title that September. He was also awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
