2,” died on September 11, 2026, at age 75. Born Enrique Eduardo Espejo Peña on April 22, 1951, in Barranca, Peru, he moved to Lima as a teenager to study and later worked for a decade as head of savings at the Banco Hipotecario del Perú.
He entered acting in 1980 after comedian Tulio Loza invited him to appear as an extra, and later that year he joined the cast of the sketch comedy program “Risas y salsa,” where he became known by the nickname Yuca, given to him on camera by Adolfo Chuiman during bloopers.
