Tulio Crespi, the Argentine car designer and racing automobile builder, died on September 22, 2026, aged 88.
Born in Buenos Aires on June 22, 1938, he was also known as Orlando Tulio Crespi and spent much of his career building and preparing competition cars. He began working in the 1960s and remained active in the preparation of single-seaters and touring cars until his death.
Crespi led his factory in Balcarce, where chassis were produced for formula racing, and for years supplied chassis to Argentina’s Fórmula Renault category. His later work included limited-run replicas of historic Formula 1 cars used in the filming of the Ayrton Senna miniseries and later offered to the public.
