He had strayed into the Baltic Sea in March 2026 and was stranded several times along the German coast before being loaded onto a barge and released into the North Sea on May 2, 2026. Named after Timmendorfer Strand, Timmy was an adult or subadult humpback whale measuring 12.35 metres and weighing an estimated 12 tons.
