Thembeni Nxangisa, a South African politician who served in the Free State Executive Council, died on July 23, 2026.
A member of the African National Congress, he entered the provincial legislature after the party won 19 seats in the 2019 election and was sworn in as a member of the legislature on May 22 that year. Premier Sisi Ntombela then appointed him Member of the Executive Council for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, a post he held from May 2019 until October 2021.
He later became MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, before being removed from the executive council in March 2023.
