He later played for several leading Greek teams, including Olympiacos, Panionios and Iraklis, and was associated in the record with Levadiakos, Olympiacos and Iraklis, as well as the Greek national team.
Gonias made two appearances for Greece and scored once, converting a penalty in a 2-1 friendly win over Cyprus on his debut in August 1997.
