Nikos Sevastopoulos, the Greek footballer who played as a forward, died on October 2, 2026, aged 81.
Born in Tavros on February 26, 1945, he was known for his spells with AEK Athens, Hellenic and Vyzas Megara. He appeared four times for Greece’s under-19 side during the 1963 European Championship qualifiers and group stage, and scored once in the 7–2 home win over West Germany on April 13.
Outside football, he later worked as a bartender at the Hilton Hotel in Athens from 1974 until 1997, while continuing his association with Vyzas Megara, and afterwards worked in a cosmetics company with his wife.
