A British management consultant, historian and author, he was born on September 2, 1954, and earned an MA with first-class honours from Oxford before pursuing doctoral study in philosophy at Oxford and the University of Tübingen, where he was a Research Fellow of the Humboldt Foundation. He worked for 17 years in the London and Munich offices of The Boston Consulting Group and later served in insurance before joining Ashridge.
Bungay wrote on military history, including The Most Dangerous Enemy: A History of the Battle of Britain and Alamein, and from 2004 contributed to television programmes such as Channel 4’s Spitfire Ace.
