Serge Malenfant, a Canadian painter, died on July 12, 2026, in Sherbrooke.
He was best known for trompe-l’œil murals created for the city of Sherbrooke, beginning with a work installed in 2002 at the intersection of Rue Frontenac and Rue Dufferin. Malenfant also served on the board of the Sherbrooke History Museum and, in 2025, worked as a mural expert assistant to Adèle Blais during the creation of a mural on Ruelle Whiting in Sherbrooke.
In 2026, he also illustrated a collection of stories.
