Nasos Athanasiou, a Greek journalist and politician, died on June 2, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born in Athens on March 2, 1951, he grew up in Aigaleo and studied at the Athens Law School. Athanasiou worked for the newspapers Ethnos, Kathimerini and Eleftheros Typos, and for the magazines Ena and Eikones, before becoming known as the host of the ERT program Kathe Mesimeri in 1976.
He was also a longtime member of the Journalists‘ Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers, where he served on the board of directors.
