Mike Salisbury, the British filmmaker, died on May 13, 2026, aged 84.
Born John Michael Salisbury in March 1942 in England, he was an English documentary filmmaker who specialised in natural history programmes for television. Over a career spanning four decades, he spent more than 30 years with the BBC Natural History Unit, where he produced a string of award-winning series, many in collaboration with David Attenborough.
He retired from the unit in 2006 and continued to work as a freelance filmmaker.
