Michael Meadowcroft, the English politician who served as MP for Leeds West from 1983 to 1987, died on June 1, 2026, aged 84.
Born in Southport on March 6, 1942, and also known as Michael James Meadowcroft, he was educated at King George V College and the University of Bradford. He joined the Liberal Party as a teenager after leaving school to work as a bank clerk in 1958, later chairing the Merseyside Region of the National League of Young Liberals and working for the party as its local government officer during the 1960s.
