Master Parrot dead at age 47, Ugandan dancehall and Afro-pop music artist

Master Parrot, a Ugandan dancehall and Afro-pop music artist, died on June 1, 2026.

Born David Sifaayo in 1978, he emerged in the 2000s as part of Uganda’s contemporary dancehall and Afro-pop scene and became known for songs such as “Muliro,” “Ekikompola” and “Maama Wabaana.” He was also a founding member of Fire Base Crew, the influential music collective he formed alongside Bobi Wine, and he later returned to the group for a 2017 remix of “Muliro” with Mickie Wine.
