Margriet Hermans, the Belgian singer, presenter and politician who served as a senator from 2007 to 2011, died on June 3, 2026, at the age of 72.
Born Margareta Maria Josepha Hermans in Turnhout on March 17, 1954, she became known in Belgium through work in music and broadcasting before entering politics with Open VLD. Elected to the Belgian Senate in 2007, she later received recognition as a Knight of the Order of Leopold.
Hermans died by euthanasia.
