P. Jayasinghe, a Sri Lankan lawyer, politician, and former governor of Uva and North Central provinces, died on May 13, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born in Hambantota in 1945, he served as governor of Uva Province from 2015 to 2018 and later as governor of North Central Province in 2018. Also known as Marappullige Jayasinghe, he was the 9th governor of North Central Province.
