Louise Botting, the British broadcaster and businesswoman best known for presenting BBC Radio 4’s Money Box, died on September 22, 2026, aged 87.

Born Elizabeth Louise Young on September 19, 1939, she was educated at Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls and the London School of Economics before joining the BBC. She presented Money Box from 1977 to 1992, then moved into business, becoming one of the first female directors of a FTSE 100 company when she joined the board of CGNU, formerly General Accident and later Aviva.

Botting also held non-executive directorships with companies including Trinity Mirror, London Weekend Television and Camelot Group, and was the mother of broadcaster Anna Botting.
