Ihor Losiev, a Ukrainian political scientist and publicist, died on July 15, 2026.
Born in Sevastopol on March 10, 1955, he became known as a columnist, journalist, and scholar of philosophy. He held a кандидат of philosophical sciences degree and served as an associate professor in the Department of Cultural Studies at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
Losiev was also a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and an honorary member of the Taras Shevchenko Sevastopol society “Prosvita.” He was the first recipient of the James Mace Prize and received the Yakov Halchevskyi Prize in 2013.
