
Laurie Webb, the Welsh actor known for his roles in Doctor Who, Paul Temple and Doomwatch, died on March 29, 2026, aged 101.
Born Lawrence Melvin Henry Webb in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales, on 6 May 1924, he began his career in 1958 with an appearance on Sid Caesar’s TV series Sid Caesar Invites You. His screen work also included periods of activity from 1966 to 1975, in 1986 and in 2016.
During the Second World War, Webb served in the British Army as a sergeant major with the Royal Corps of Signals, stationed in France and Germany.
