Ladislav Skula, a Czech mathematician and professor, died on May 13, 2026, at the age of 88.
He was known for work in topology, algebraic number theory and the theory of ordered sets, and published more than 80 papers. Skula also made noted contributions on the Fermat quotient.
He earned his Dr.Sc. degree from Charles University in Prague with a thesis on algebra and number theory, and in 1991 was appointed professor at Masaryk University in Brno, where he later became emeritus professor.
