
Kyösti Virrankoski, the Finnish politician who served as an MP from 1991 to 1995 and as an MEP from 1996 to 2009, died on May 21, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born in Kauhava on April 4, 1944, he represented the Centre Party of Finland in both the Finnish parliament and the European Parliament. In the European Parliament, he sat with the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe and served on the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, the Committee on Budgetary Control and the Committee on Budgets.
