Joyce Woodhouse, an American politician and former member of the Nevada Senate, died on May 9, 2026.
She was 82. Woodhouse served in the Nevada Senate representing the 5th district from 2006 to 2010 and again from 2012 to 2019.
Born in Wibaux, Montana, in 1944, she was the oldest of five daughters and grew up on her father’s Hereford cattle ranch. She later attended Carroll College and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she earned degrees in elementary education, curriculum and instruction, and educational leadership.
