Rear-Admiral John Oliver Roberts CB, a British Royal Navy officer who served as Flag Officer, Naval Air Command, died on December 27, 2025, at the age of 101.

Born in Wales on 4 April 1924, he was educated at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth and joined the Royal Navy in 1941 at HMS St Vincent during the Second World War. He later commanded 803 Naval Air Squadron aboard HMS Eagle in 1957, the frigate HMS St Bride’s Bay in 1960, HMS Galatea in 1966 and the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal.

He was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath in the 1976 New Year Honours.
