Miklós Fazekas Hungarian steeplechase runner dead at age 92

Miklós Fazekas, a Hungarian steeplechase runner, died on December 27, 2025, at the age of 92.

Born in Putnok on December 6, 1933, he graduated from the College of Physical Education in Budapest. Fazekas won the gold medal in the men’s 3000 metres steeplechase at the 1962 Hungarian Athletics Championships, running a personal best of 8:43.2, and later competed in the same event at the 1962 European Athletics Championships, where he was eliminated in the heats.

He also won gold in the same event at the 1965 Hungarian Athletics Championships.

Miklós Fazekas (6 December 1933 – 27 December 2025) was a Hungarian steeplechase runner.
