
John Huston Ricard, an American Roman Catholic prelate and bishop who led the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee from 1997 to 2007 and served as an auxiliary bishop of Baltimore from 1984 to 1997, died on May 20, 2026, at age 86.
Born in New Roads, Louisiana, on February 29, 1940, he was later named superior general of the Society of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart, also known as the Josephites, serving in that post from 2019 until his death.
Ricard was ordained to the priesthood in 1968.
