James F.
Almand, an American politician and member of the Virginia House of Delegates, died on May 14, 2026, at the age of 77. He represented Arlington, Virginia, in the House from 1978 to mid-2003, and served as chair of the House Courts of Justice committee.
Almand was born in Arlington on October 18, 1948. He received undergraduate and law degrees from the College of William and Mary. Before entering politics, he worked as an attorney and judge.
