Dame Anne Heather Steel, DBE, was a former High Court judge and also served on the Court of Appeal of Guernsey. Born on 3 July 1940, she studied at Howell’s School in Denbigh before taking an LLB at the University of Liverpool.
She was called to the bar at Gray’s Inn in 1963, appointed a recorder in 1984 and a circuit judge in 1986, and later sat on the Criminal Committee of the Judicial Standards Board and worked as a tutor judge at the Judicial College.
