Hans-Jürgen Kreische, a German football player and manager best known for his long association with Dynamo Dresden and the East Germany national team, died on March 30, 2026.

He spent his entire career with Dynamo Dresden, scoring 127 goals in 234 DDR-Oberliga games between 1964 and 1978. Kreische scored 25 goals in 50 appearances for East Germany, was the national side’s top scorer in 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1976, and was named player of the year in 1973.

He was part of the 1974 World Cup squad and won an Olympic bronze medal in 1972.

Hans-Jürgen Kreische (19 July 1947 – 1 April 2026) was an East German footballer who played as a forward for Dynamo Dresden and the East Germany national team.
