Known also as Godfrey Richard Graham, he was a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler who made one first-class appearance for Ireland, in a match against Scotland in July 1954. Born in Dublin in 1936, he later joined RTÉ Television soon after its launch and worked there for four decades as one of its first lighting cameramen.
His television work included major programmes such as Discovery and coverage of US President John F. Kennedy’s visit to Ireland, and in 1981 he received a Jacob’s Award for his work on Eugene McCabe’s Winter Music.
