He ran for mayor of Toronto in 2010 and 2023. Mammoliti had previously represented Yorkview from 1990 to 1995 for the New Democratic Party (NDP) in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Prior to entering politics, he worked for the Metro Toronto Housing Authority and was a labour union president.
