Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Omani politician and Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, died on March 12, 2026.

He served in that post from May 22, 1979, until his death. Born in Muscat on October 5, 1940, he held a commerce degree from the University of Cairo.

He was appointed director of the ministry of foreign affairs in 1971, became minister of state in November 1971 and minister of information and culture in December 1972. He also served as spokesperson of the Royal Family Council during the extraordinary session following the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said (Arabic: فهد بن محمود آل سعيد; 5 October 1940 – 12 March 2026) was an Omani politician who served as the Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers. He had served in this post from 22 May 1979 until his death on 12 March 2026.
