Eugenio Binini, an Italian Roman Catholic prelate and bishop of Pitigliano-Sovana-Orbetello from 1983 to 1991 and bishop of Massa Carrara-Pontremoli from 1991 to 2010, died on May 7, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born in Traversetolo on December 21, 1934, he studied at the major seminary of Parma and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Parma on September 22, 1957. Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of Pitigliano-Sovana-Orbetello in 1983, and he received his episcopal consecration at St.
Peter’s Basilica in Rome in January 1984.
