Born in Helsinki, he worked as an industrial engineer and designer and became known for a range of practical and decorative products, including the Helkama Jopo bicycle, the Tikkurila Church communion set, bathroom fixtures, reflectors, spectacle frames, air conditioner enclosures and jewelry for Kalevala Jewelry. Rislakki was appointed an honorary member of Teolliset muotoilijat, or Industrial Designers TKO, in 1996 and received the Pro Finlandia Medal of the Order of the Lion of Finland in 2005.
He lived in Sweden but spent summers in Finland, and in Sauvo he took part in the municipality’s cultural and economic development work.
