
David Wilde, an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire, died on March 7, 2026.
Born in Glossop on 3 July 1950, he played first-class cricket for Derbyshire in 1971 and 1972. Wilde began with Derbyshire in 1969, appearing for the junior sides and the second XI, and became a regular bowler for the second eleven in 1970.
He made his first-class debut against Somerset in May 1971, taking three wickets, and went on to play three more first-class matches that season. In 1972, he appeared more often for the first team and recorded his best bowling figures of 3–27 against Essex.
